What is this?

Ritual is an activity tracking app with a focus on long-term growth and flexible goal-orientation, summarized with Sunday newsletters at 9AM CST.

I think much of our lives are governed by our routines. When I was younger, I balked at this idea; why would I waste my precious time mastering the mundane when I could just do it? Well it turns out I can't, and it quickly became clear to me that the boring bits were the foundation of any sort of lasting achievement. In searching for progress, I found peace in the mundanity of a morning walk and coffee; every step in the early sunlight became an analog to the similarly enjoyable progress I'd patiently find elsewhere.

To better understand myself and what led to different routines, I decided to start journaling/notetaking. But this felt inefficient--I didn't want to pore over the disjointed, unorganized data I logged; that's a computer's job. Also, it felt strangely corporate to so diligently fill out a form of how I spent my life each day. Why can't I just say what I did, as I would to a friend? Well with GPT, I can. So I built Ritual.
